Background

Don Woollard is a builder and master craftsman. In the early 1980’s he and his wife Janet became disenchanted with life in England. They toyed with the idea of relocating abroad and in early 1983 they decided to take a house hunting trip to arguably the most picturesque area of France - the Lot et Garonne in the south west of the country.

It is during this trip that Don and Janet first set eyes on the rather sorry estate which was known locally as Regis. The massive house was built on the top of a hill positioned 2 KM to the North East of Monflanquin and 10 KM to the South West of Biron. The house and buildings were all built around a beautiful courtyard and there was no doubt in their minds that with some love, attention and Don’s talented hands that the estate could be restored even beyond it’s former glories.

The plan was always to convert the sprawling house and adjoining buildings into luxurious holiday homes that that could be let out. The Woollards could then live the dream in this ideal corner of France and earn a living from their investment. This business has been extremely successful for the Woollard’s but it is now time to call time on this era.

It is therefore with enormous regret that the homes are now being put up for sale.
